List what stays
Record the flooring, doors and fixtures you intend to keep. Photograph them in daylight. These are part of the design brief, even if they are not part of the purchase. Choosing a new finish in isolation can make the remaining decisions harder.
Choose an anchor for each room
In a bathroom, that may be the vanity. In a kitchen, it may be the cabinet finish. Compare the surrounding materials against that selection. Ask for samples where available, since a screen cannot establish an exact color match.
Check the connections between rooms
Look at adjoining spaces from the hallway. Repeating a finish or a shape can connect rooms without making every piece identical. Before ordering, review the specification and maintenance requirements for each product. A coordinated appearance does not mean every material has the same care needs.
